A case of African swine fever (ASF) has been recorded in the village of Yenky in Poltava region.
According to the State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service, with reference to the main veterinary medicine department in Poltava region, a dead wild boar was founded during rounds of hunting lands in the village of Yenky on January 24.
Biosecurity service specialists in Poltava region held the examination, autopsy and selection of biological material, the wild boar corpse was burned, the spot, where the animal was found, was disinfected. After the study of the selected material on January 26 the experts diagnosed ASF.
This is the first case of registration of ASF in Ukraine since the beginning of 2016.
