Rada tax committee proposes raising excise tax on alternative fuel by 42%
The parliamentary tax committee has proposed increasing excise tax on alternative motor fuel by 42%, from EUR99 per tonne to EUR141 per tonne, head of the committee Nina Yuzhanina said, when considering government bill No. 3688.
Initially the document provided for the increase in excise tax on this type of fuel only by 13%, to EUR112/tonne.
"Set the size of excise tax on alternative motor fuel in the amount of EUR141/tonne, taking into account a 30% bio-component, instead of EUR112/tonne foreseen by the draft document," Yuzhanina said.
As reported, the government in draft law No. 3688 on amendments to the Tax Code dated December 22, 2015 proposed in the first half of 2016 to increase excise tax on motor fuel by 13%. Thus excise tax on ordinary petrol will rise to EUR228/tonne.
