Court upholds legality of selling blocking stake in Dniproenergo to DTEK
The Kyiv Economic Court has dismissed the claim of Business-Invest investment company (Dnipropetrovsk) to invalidate the sale of a state stake of 25% in power generating company PJSC Dniproenergo to Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK.
The relevant judgment dated June 22 has been posted in the unified state register.
According to the document, the court considers the orders of the Cabinet, as well as the orders and decisions of the State Property Fund as lawful, on the basis of which the sale of a blocking stake in Dniproenergo was carried out.
The hearing was held with the participation of the Prosecutor General's Office.
As reported, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine on April 3 appealed to court asking for the alienation of state-owned shares in PJSC Dniproenergo, Donbasenergo, and Zakarpattiaoblenergo to be recognized as illegal.
In 2012, Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK energy holding privatized 25% of power generating company PJSC Dniproenergo for UAH 1.180 billion. At the same time, the holding was the only participant in a privatization tender.
