Foreign investors file lawsuits worth UAH 170 bln against Ukraine – deputy justice minister
Foreign investors are trying to recover UAH 170 billion from Ukraine in international courts, Deputy Justice Minister of Ukraine Anton Yanchuk has said.
"The total amount of claims is UAH 170 billion," he said at a briefing.
According to him, this amount is made up of 19 litigations, as well as 21 complaints on pre-trial settlements of disputes with foreign investors.
Yanchuk said that in 2012 the amount of claims was UAH 30 billion, in 2013 – UAH 20 billion.
He said the rise in financial claims and the losses of foreign investors in Ukraine is connected with the occupation of Crimea and parts of eastern Ukraine by Russia, as well as the "resistance of oligarchs."
