Odesa authorities appeal to PGO to return city airport to municipal ownership
Chairman of Odesa Regional State Administration Ihor Palitsa has appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO), asking it to help return Odesa airport to municipal ownership.
"On February 18, 2015 I as the head of the regional administration signed a letter to new prosecutor general Shokin asking to return the airport, because the local prosecutor's office refused to be a party in court on this issue," Palitsa said at a briefing in Odesa.
According to him, the airport should be returned to municipal ownership.
As reported, in early July 2011 Odesa City Council agreed to participate in the joint venture Odesa International Airport LLC, created to reconstruct the municipal enterprise Odesa International Airport. The second participant in the JV was Odessa Airport Development Ltd. with a charter capital of about UAH 1,000.
