Russia to back its energy companies in Ukraine - Lavrov
Russia will render the necessary support to its energy companies in Ukraine where they are facing problems, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We will be rendering all possible support at the government level to Russian companies in Ukraine as well as in any other country," Lavrov said at an annual press conference on Wednesday when asked by Interfax how the Foreign Ministry would react to the Ukrainian attempts to cause problems for Lukoil, Transneft, and Rosneft.
"You are right that they are facing a special, and, not very easy situation in Ukraine," he said.
"It is very important to cherish and promote the beginnings of interaction in the economic field that are taking shape now," he said.
