Ukraine to boost Oschadbank's charter capital by UAH 11 bln – premier
Ukraine's government plans to boost state-run Oschadbank's charter capital by UAH 11 billion, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
"On the one hand, this is additional stability for the state bank… On the other hand, this is the possibility for the state bank to issue loans to the economy and keep the key sectors of the Ukrainian economy afloat," he said.
Oschadbank runs an energy efficiency facilitation program, Yatseniuk said and asked to speed up its implementation.
Oschadbank was founded in 1991. It is wholly owned by the state.
It ranked third among 166 operating banks as of October 1, 2014, in terms of overall assets worth UAH 113.682 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine said.
