Ukraine's repayment of $3.1 bln debt a condition for Russian gas deliveries in 2015 – protocol
Ukraine's repayment of its $3.1-billion gas debt is a condition for Russian natural gas deliveries in 2015, according to the legally binding protocol, which was signed by Ukraine, Russia and the European Union in Brussels.
The text of the document was published on the Ukrainian government's website on Friday.
The transfer of the first and second tranches, as mentioned in Point 2.1 ($1.45 billion and $1.65 billion), is a condition for Russian gas shipments to Ukraine after December 31, 2014, the protocol says.
