EC proposes Ukraine, Russia sign interim contract until gas dispute settled in Stockholm - Oettinger
The European Commission has proposed that Kyiv and Moscow sign an interim contract for gas supplies, which will be in effect until the Stockholm arbitration court issues a ruling in the gas dispute between Ukraine and Russia.
European Commission Vice President for Energy Gunther Oettinger said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday that the idea was to find an interim solution and sign an interim contract for a certain amount of billions of cubic meters of gas to be delivered by Gazprom to Naftogaz at an intermediate price and then to wait for the decision of the Stockholm arbitration court.
As reported, a meeting between the EU, Ukraine and Russia on gas issues is scheduled for September 26.
