Ukraine plans to pay gas debt to Russia by end-2013

Ukraine plans to settle its entire debt for Russian gas by the end of this year, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky told reporters.

"By the end of the year. It's about $1 billion," he said.

Asked whether payments for current gas supplies would be restructured in the future, Stavytsky said: "We've practically agreed on schedules that benefit both sides."
