As a result of massive Russian shelling of Avdiyivka (Donetsk region), one civilian was killed, two were wounded, an investigation has been launched, the Prosecutor General's Office reports.

"Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pretrial investigation has been launched in criminal proceedings into violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the investigation, on October 11, 2023, in the morning, troops of the aggressor state attacked residential areas of Avdiyivka. An 85-year-old local resident died from shell explosions in the courtyard of his own private house," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Wednesday.

A 44-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man were also reportedly injured. "They were taken to hospital with fractures for emergency medical care. The latter is now in intensive care."
