President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelenskyy has said that the decision of the military command to withdraw from Avdiyivka in eastern Ukraine was made in order to save lives

“In order to save the maximum number of Ukrainians, to save our people. This is the right decision to avoid being surrounded,” he said, speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

“Russia didn’t seize anything. They completely destroyed houses and then entered the territory,” Zelenskyy said.

According to president, Ukraine still does not possess weapons superior to Russia’s.

“We will surprise them with our drone systems, electronic warfare systems. But this is a parallel path that we are paving while waiting for the help of our partners,” Zelenskyy said.
