There were no concentrations of ammonia above permissible levels recorded in air samples in Horlivka (Donetsk region) after the accident occurred at plant No. 1 of PJSC Stirol Concern on Tuesday, the press service of Horlivka Town Council has reported.

The chief sanitary doctor of the Horlivka town sanitary and epidemiological service, Viktor Liapin, said that after the accident the service took samples of the air next to the sanitary protection zone (800 and 1,000 meters from the emission source). The maximum permissible concentration of ammonia was not exceeded when the air samples were analyzed.

As reported, there was an ammonia pipeline blowout during overhauls at plant No. 1 of PJSC Stirol Concern on August 8. Five people were killed and around 20 people were injured in the accident.

According to preliminary findings, the gas leak occurred due to an ammonia pipeline failure.

Stirol is one of Ukraine's biggest chemical producers. Ostchem is a managing company that coordinates the strategy of six fertilizer companies belonging to Group DF of Dmytro Firtash, four of which are located in Ukraine: Stirol Concern, Severodonetsk Azot, Cherkasy Azot and Rivneazot.
