Kolomoisky announces continuation of talks on restructuring obligations to PrivatBank

The former shareholders of PrivatBank continue negotiations on restructuring the existing obligations to the financial institution, one of the bank's ex-owners, Ihor Kolomoisky, said to the tsn.ua news service.

"I can report that the former owners of PrivatBank, in accordance with their obligations, participate in the negotiations to restructure their loans with a consortium of companies that received a mandate to represent the interests of the Ministry of Finance and PrivatBank, which was agreed with the International Monetary Fund," Kolomoisky said.

He clarified the negotiation process began in June this year, is being carried out as normal and will continue until achieving agreements.

According to Kolomoisky, the statement of the National Bank of Ukraine that the former owners of PrivatBank have not fulfilled the obligations undertaken before July 1 does not correspond to reality.

"In my opinion, the information hype raised by NBU officials regarding the restructuring of loans of the former shareholders of PrivatBank is related to the central bank representatives' lack of awareness of the ongoing negotiation process (to which they are not related). It is likely that the NBU statements, which contradict the data of the bank's official audited statements and distort the essence of the audit, are caused by the desire to absolve themselves of responsibility for unprofessionalism and the cost of the decisions made by the National Bank on the nationalization of PrivatBank for the society," Kolomoisky said.
