JKX says Kolomoisky loses control in company

Oil and gas company JKX Oil&Gas LTD with assets in Ukraine notified that Ihor Kolomoisky has lost control in the company.

"JKX has received confirmation from the Registrar of Corporate Affairs in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) that Eclairs Group Limited (EGL), having BVI company number 1753610, was struck off the register on November 1, 2022 and dissolved by operation of BVI Law on July 4, 2023. Prior to dissolution EGL was the company’s major shareholder with a 32.66% interest in the company’s issued share capital," it said.

"The company has received advice from BVI lawyers confirming that pursuant to Sn 220 of the BVI Business Companies Act, 2004 (as amended) the shares in JKX previously held by EGL have now vested in the Crown," the report says.

"As a consequence, EGL will now be removed from the company’s share register and Mr. Ihor Kolomoisky, who previously had indirect control of EGL, will be removed from the company’s PSC register on the basis that he no longer has any direct or indirect interest in the company," it reads.

As reported, Kolomoisky received the status of a person with significant control in JKX on January 6, 2022. The company initially announced a large private beneficiary back in June, but could not disclose details about him then.

JKX Oil&Gas is engaged in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in Ukraine and the Russian Federation. Owned by JKX, Poltava Petroleum Company is one of the largest non-state oil and gas producing companies in Ukraine. It owns five licenses for production and one for geological study, including pilot production.
