USDA revises grain exports forecast for Ukraine up for 2016/17

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecasts that Ukraine will harvest 61.225 million tonnes of grain in the current agricultural year (July 2016-June 2017) and this is 2.4% more than the previous forecast. The country will export 33.63 million tonnes of grain (3% up on the previous forecast).

Ukraine's feed grain harvest will total 36.225 million tonnes (35.775 million in the June report), including 26 million tonnes of corn and 9.1 million tonnes of barley (8.65 million in the previous report).

The wheat harvest and exports forecasts were revised upwards by 1 million tonnes, to 25 million tonnes and 12.5 million tonnes respectively.

The feed grain exports forecast did not change, being 21.13 million tonnes, including 17 million tonnes of corn.
