Price of most popular bread in Kyiv won't rise until at least late 2013, says official

The prices of the most popular types of bread produced by PJSC Kyivkhlib have not been increased, this issue will not be considered until at least the end of this year, Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Anatoliy Holubchenko has said.

He explained that the most popular types of bread are the following: Bohdanovsky, Pshenychny Tradytsiyny, Pechersky, Arnaut, Nyva and Ukrainsky Domashny.

According to the press service of Kyiv City State Administration, the prices of these types of bread are being kept fixed due to the agreement with the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine, with the support of the government. Thus, flour for making the most popular types bread will be bought at a lower price, which will allow a rise in the price of the final product to be avoided.

However, Kyivkhlib CEO Volodymyr Chereda said that a sharp increase in the price of grain and flour forced the producer to increase the prices of Ukrainsky Stolychny bread and the Kyivsky loaf by 24 kopecks (6-7%). According to him, these types of bread are not the most popular ones.

Kyiv City State1 Administration explained that to avoid confusion with the names and the manufacturers of bread, separate shelves for the most popular types of bread should be placed in stores.
