Kostyantyn Zhevago
Kostyantyn Zhevago was born on January 7, 1974, in the town of Iultin, Magadan Region. He has been a citizen of Ukraine since 1991.
In 1996, he graduated from Kyiv State Economic University (now Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman) with a degree in International Economic Relations and obtained a master's degree in Economics with a specialization in International Economics.
Following this, in 2003, Kostyantyn Zhevago earned a PhD in Economics by defending his dissertation on international investments and effective economic development at Kyiv National Economic University.
Starting from 1995, he became a member of the Supervisory Board of Ferrexpo Poltava Mining. In June 2007, Kostyantyn Zhevago joined the management board of an iron ore company Ferrexpo plc. It was the first company with assets in Ukraine whose shares began trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. In 2012, the company opened its second mining and beneficiation plant (Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining), the first new iron ore mine in Europe after Ukraine gained independence. Ferrexpo is one of the top three global exporters of iron ore pellets, and K. Zhevago is a co-owner of the company.
Kostyantyn Zhevago served as a people's deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) from 1998 to 2019. From 2002 to 2012, he was a member of the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and a member of the permanent Delegation for Parliamentary Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union. Until 2014, he headed the inter-parliamentary relations group with Japan. Later, he became a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and Justice and a member of the inter-parliamentary relations group with Japan.
Throughout many years of his career, Kostyantyn Zhevago held positions as the Chairman and member of the supervisory and management boards of various Ukrainian and international companies.
He is married and has a son and a daughter.
