Champions League final in Kyiv attended by 61,561 spectators
A total of 61,561 spectators attended the final match of the UEFA Champions League between Real Madrid and Liverpool at the Olympiysky National Sports Complex in Kyiv on May 26, according to official UEFA data.
The nominal seating capacity of the stadium is 70,050 spectators, but due to the peculiarities of holding such matches, a large number of special guests and journalists, it was initially known that the stadium's capacity at the Champions League final would be reduced to about 63,000 people.
For comparison, the Euro 2012 final between Spain and Italy in Kyiv gathered 63,170 spectators at the Olympiysky stadium, the Euro 2012 quarterfinal between Italy and England 64,340, and Euro 2012 group stage matches with Sweden, including against Ukraine, brought together about 63,000-64,000 fans.
