Sports Ministry financing in Ukraine in 2018 to grow by third
The state budget of Ukraine for 2018 envisages UAH 2.6 billion of funding for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, 32.3% up from 2017.
According to the law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2018 published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, UAH 1.547 billion will be provided to the Sports Ministry for the development of physical culture and professional sports; some UAH 441.6 million for the development of sports among persons with disabilities and their physical rehabilitation through sports; UAH 310.6 million for the preparation and participation of national teams in the Paralympics and Deaflympics.
The subvention to local budgets for the construction or reconstruction of sports facilities is also at the level of UAH 150 million; UAH 50 million will be provided as a subvention to the budget of the Ivano-Frankivsk region for the construction of a modern biathlon complex.
In 2017, the Sports Ministry was earmarked UAH 2.12 billion.
