Ukrainian Muzychuk wins European rapid chess championship
Ukrainian chess player Anna Muzychuk has won the European ACP Women's Individual Rapid Chess Championship, the European Chess Union (ECU) has said in a post on Facebook.
Muzychuk took nine points out of 11 at the tournament, which was held in Monaco on October 21-22.
The second place was taken by Russian chess player Kateryna Lagno, who played for Ukraine until 2014, and another Russian, Aleksandra Goryachkina, became third.
On March 7, 2017, Muzychuk was awarded the Order of Princess Olga (3rd degree) in accordance with a decree of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko (No. 56/2017).
