Natalia Zhukova wins European Individual Women's Chess Championship
Ukrainian Natalia Zhukova has won the 16th European Individual Women's Chess Championship for 2015, thus becoming a two-time continental champion.
"The 16th European Individual Women's Chess Championship for 2015 in Georgia ended with a splendid victory by Natalia Zhukova. Due to unconditional results in the last five rounds, she, with 9 out of 11 points, has left Georgian chess player Nino Batsiashvili behind and became a two-time European champion," the Ukrainian Chess Federation reported on its website on Saturday.
Zhukova has repeated her success of 15 years ago and will participate in the next Individual Women's Chess Championship.
The Championship was organized held in the Georgian town of Chakvi.
Zhukova became an international grandmaster in 2010, is a two-time European Champion, and has won several prizes in the World and Europe Team Championships and the World Chess Olympiad with the National Team of Ukraine.
