Yatseniuk invites FIBA Europe president to visit Ukraine to discuss preparations for EuroBasket 2015
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has invited newly-elected FIBA Europe president Turgay Demirel to visit Ukraine and discuss issues related to conducting the 2015 European Basketball Tournament for men's national teams in Ukraine.
During a telephone conversation, Yatseniuk congratulated Demirel on his election to the highest position in European basketball, the press service of Basketball Federation of Ukraine reported on Thursday.
Demirel was elected FIBA Europe president on May 17, the same day when new members of FIBA Europe board were elected as well, including president of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine Oleksandr Volkov.
The newly elected FIBA Europe Board is to make a decision on the future of EuroBasket 2015 on June 13.
