Ukraine wins first medal at 2014 Olympics in Sochi
Ukrainian biathlete Viktoria Semerenko has won the first medal for the country at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, finishing third in the 7.5 km sprint.
Slovakia's Anastasiya Kuzmina took the gold, and Russia's Olga Vilukhina won the bronze.
Among other Ukrainians, Valia Semerenko finished 12th in the race, Olena Pidhrushna was 26th, and Yulia Dzhyma was 43rd.
These are not the first Olympic Games for the Semerenko sisters, but they have not yet won any medals so far.
