Current events in Ukraine to promote success of EuroBasket 2015, says tournament director
EuroBasket 2015 Tournament Director Markiyan Lubkivsky believes that the struggle of Ukrainians for the European choice of their country will not be an obstacle, but will rather help the success of the basketball championship in Ukraine.
"If Ukraine makes a choice in favor of Europe, it will be the host country of EuroBasket 2015 and will triumph in 2015. The European choice will encourage people to come here just to look at our beautiful freedom-loving country. I believe that the current events are not an obstacle for EuroBasket in Ukraine, but on the contrary are a serious momentum for its success in 2015," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.
Lubkivsky noted that Ukraine was currently number one topic in European and world media reports. "Not only basketball fans will come to us, people will come simply to look at the people who made their European choice," he said.
