Ukraine loses to Slovenia, finishes sixth at EuroBasket 2013

Ukraine's national basketball team has taken sixth place at the EuroBasket 2013 European Basketball Championship, losing to the tournament's hosts Slovenia 63-69 in the match for fifth place on Saturday.

Ukraine's participation in the match for fifth place after the Friday victory over Italy guaranteed the country's historic advancement to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.

In addition, Ukrainian basketball players also achieved a historic breakthrough at the European championship by winning through to the second round and the quarterfinals of the tournament for the first time in history.
