Shakhtar begins Champions League campaign with away win over Real Sociedad

Shakhtar Donetsk has begun its campaign in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League with a 2-0 away win over Spain's Real Sociedad.

The double of Brazilian midfielder Alex Teixeira, who scored in the 65th and 87th minutes, brought the Donetsk side to victory at the Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastian on Tuesday.

In another Group A match England's Manchester United defeated Germany's Bayer 4-2 at home.

Thus, Shakhtar and Manchester United took the lead in the group after the first round.
