Shakhtar signs new contract with defender Rakytsky
FC Shakhtar Donetsk has signed a new five-year contract with defender Yaroslav Rakytsky, according to a statement posted on the club's Web site on Monday.
The 23-year-old player has been with the club since the age of 13. He made his debut for the club's first team in August 2009. He won the Ukrainian Premier League in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 and the Ukrainian Cup in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Rakytsky played 98 games in the Ukrainian Premier League, scoring four goals, 13 matches in the Ukrainian Cup (one goal), and 31 games in European competitions (two goals).
He played 20 matches for Ukraine's national football team and scored three goals. He made his debut for the national team in October 2009.
