Shakhtar extends contract with Brazilian player Costa

FC Shakhtar Donetsk has signed a new, five-year contract with Brazilian midfielder Douglas Costa, reads a statement posted on the club's official Web site on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old moved to Shakhtar in January 2010. He has played 95 matches for the club in the Ukrainian Premier League (scoring 21 goals), 12 games (one goal) in the Ukrainian Cup, and 20 games (three goals) in the Champions League. He won the Ukrainian Premier League with Shakhtar in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, and the Ukrainian Cup in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

As reported, on July 15, Shakhtar also signed a new, five-year contract with Brazilian midfielder Alex Teixeira.
