FC Shakhtar Donetsk has signed a four-year contract with Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Volovyk, reads a statement posted on the club's official Web site on Monday.
The footballer previously played for Metalurh Donetsk from 2007.
He played 134 matches in the Ukrainian Premier League and scored eight goals.
