Shovkovsky to remain with Dynamo Kyiv for another one-and-a-half years
An experienced goalkeeper and Dynamo Kyiv captain, Oleksandr Shovkovsky, has signed a new contract with the club for another one-and-a-half years.
"The contract is designed for one-and-a-half years, i.e. until the end of the 2013/2014 season," reads a statement posted on the club's official Web site on Monday.
The 37-year-old Shovkovsky has played for Dynamo since 1993. He is a 12-time champion of Ukraine and an eight-time winner of the Ukrainian Cup.
On September 4, the goalkeeper decided to retire from international football.
On February 8, 2011, in a friendly match against Romania, Shovkovsky became the oldest player in the history of the Ukrainian national football team - 36 years and 36 days.
