Akhmetov ready to pay salary to foreign coach for national football team

President of FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Ukrainian business tycoon Rinat Akhmetov has said he is ready to pay salary to a famous European coach who will be willing to train the Ukrainian national football team.

"I would like to remove the issue that we do not have funds for a good specialist from the agenda. I can publicly state that if we need a very good European specialist, I am ready to pay him salary from my fund," he told journalists in Kyiv on Monday.

Akhmetov stressed that should the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) decide to invite a well-known European coach for the national team, the salary would not be an issue.

It is more important to decide what type of a coach the national team needs and who is able to bring it to a new level, the businessman said.
