URCS reps, Kherson authorities discuss needs of residents affected by flood as result of Kakhovka HPP explosion

The leadership of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and representatives of the Kherson regional military administration discussed the urgent needs of residents in the flood zone in the region after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was blown up by Russian invaders.

According to the URCS official Facebook page, at a meeting on Wednesday, they focused on the importance of strengthening anti-epidemiological measures, including informing the population about the prevention of infectious diseases, as well as the observance of individual and food hygiene in the territory affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP.

"A separate issue was the expansion of the coverage area for the activities of the mobile medical teams of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society," the URCS said in a statement.

Mobile medical teams of the URCS go to the most remote settlements, where access to medical services is limited, and provide the necessary medical assistance to residents.
