Painting by Galyna Moskvitina was sold at MacDougall's London auction house
Kyiv became the fourth capital city of the world tour to host the series of lightangs by Ukrainian artist Galyna Moskvitina entitled "Code of Light". The world tour is carried by the private foundation "Arcane Art". The exhibition is open from 7 to 13 of December in Kyiv branch of the National Museum of Russian Art "Chocolate House". During the world tour the exhibition was successfully presented in Tel Aviv (Israel), Milan (Italy), London (United Kingdom). On the opening day in London the auction house MacDougall's has selected "Ray of Creation" painting for the auction. On December 1st it was purchased for 6500 pounds. This was the second painting by Galyna Moskvitina to take part in European auctions of fine art. The first painting "Dance School" was sold this summer at the "Russian sale" at Bonhams auction house for 9600 pounds. In Kyiv, fans of Galyna Moskvitina’s art were introduced to her new painting "Space". Traditionally, for each of 17 lightangs Galyna Moskvitina made a special design: one part of the paintings was especially framed, while another part was equipped with tables with the artist’s texts. Galyna Moskvitina also made a movie, which was shown in a separate “meditation room”. As usual, Galyna Moskvitina was not present at her exhibition. The artist never visits events dedicated to her art. Information about Galyna Moskvitina Galyna Moskvitina is the only artist working in "laternative realism" style. This style expresses the concept of "light", "shining", "luminosity". Her paintings are called lightangs (from "light" and "anchor") meaning anchors of light on the Earth. Back in the 90s of the last century, Galyna Moskvitina became well-known as an illustrator. There were more than 70 books published with her illustrations, including "Master and Margarita" by Bulgakov, the collection of Shakespeare’s works and others. At the height of her creative career Galyna Moskvitina disappeared from the art scene, having spent nearly 15 years in the East. There she went a long way of spiritual search and discoveries, comprehending the mysteries and hidden paths of self-development and self-knowledge in solitude. Recently, Galyna Moskvitina is back on the art scene in a new quality. Her work can be attributed to the so-called objective art. This kind of art works with general laws governing the structuring of space, crystallizing and dissolving different worlds, including our Earth.
