PRESS RELEASE: Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, International Trade-Club sign memo of cooperation
A memorandum of cooperation between the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and the International Trade-Club in Ukraine was signed on October 31, 2011. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and Trade-Club President, Minister-Counselor of the Polish Embassy in Ukraine, Andrzej Grabowski signed the memo. The memo foresees the creation of a working group to draw up a plan for cooperation in international work and to coordinate cooperation with regional administrations, regional chambers of commerce and industry and sector associations in the sphere of jointly holding economic forums, conferences, roundtables, etc. The Foreign Ministry will send public information related to the area of responsibility of the ministry - on foreign economic and investment operations, investment projects, etc. - to Trade-Club members. Trade-Club will support the organization of the Foreign Ministry's cooperation with commercial and economic departments of foreign embassies accredited in Ukraine, the heads of which are Trade-Club members. The International Trade-Club public organization has been operating in Ukraine since 1992. Trade-Club currently unites managers and employees of the departments for trade and economic affairs of nearly 60 embassies of foreign states and international organizations accredited to Ukraine. In 1993 the Trade-Club was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine as a voluntary organization. The Trade-Club was awarded with the Honorary Diplomas by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. The primary objective of the Trade-Club is to inform foreign diplomats about economic, transport, scientific and technical potential of Ukraine and the specific regions and, to assist the Ukrainian central and local administrative bodies with the attraction of investments, and the establishment of business contacts between domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. Members of Trade-Club regularly visit the regions of Ukraine, meeting with local administration and business people, studying investment project, operations of industrial and agricultural companies, holding talks with representative of business circles. In Kyiv members of Trade-Club meet heads of central executive power bodies, heads of sector associations, banks, etc. From 1992 to 2010 Trade-Club cooperated with the Economy Ministry of Ukraine.
