The Fourth International Investment Summit DID 2011: Interregional and cross-border cooperation
The International Investment Summit DID is the largest business forum in the country, which has been held in Ukraine since 2008. It is the most reputable gathering of Ukrainian and international businesses, which addresses the issues of economic development and investments prospects of Ukraine.
The 2011 DID Summit will focus on the Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation ICBC (Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation). The current development of the principles of regional and state governance, expansion of trade, economic, industrial, scientific, technical and cultural ties between regions of different countries reinforces the importance of regional cooperation. Interregional and cross-border cooperation takes on special significance for Ukraine, Russia and other post-Soviet countries, where economic, cultural and social ties were either severed or severely limited after the breakup of the Soviet Union.
The development of interregional and cross-border cooperation is restrained by imperfection of both national legislations of the states and the legislative framework of multilateral cooperation. These are mostly the framework agreements that merely outline the cooperation. The Fourth International Investment Summit DID 2011 is aimed at opening the potential of interregional cooperation and developing mechanisms of cooperation, which would allow establishing direct trade and economic cooperation between economic entities of the countries, creating new formats of cooperation, developing inter-regional programs to support small and medium businesses.
The Summit is scheduled for October 18-19, 2011 and is intended to promote good neighborly relations, as well as to simplify economic relations between different countries and businesses.
The project is implemented by Donetsk Regional State Administration and Donetsk Regional Council. The general partner is System Capital Management (SCM). The partners are Ernst & Young, KPMG, Altera Finance, and Conference House.
