PRESS RELEASE: International conference: 'Analytical Forum: Russia-Ukraine-Kazakhstan – At the Start of the Grain Season'
An international conference entitled "Analytical Forum: Russia-Ukraine-Kazakhstan – At the Start of the Grain Season" will take place at Opera Hotel in Kyiv on July 14, 2011.
About the conference:
Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan are at the threshold of a new grain season, which is expected by many market participants to be better than the current one.
Favorable wintering conditions for grain crops in Russia and Ukraine, in combination with the intensive planting of spring crops amid good weather conditions, give the Black Sea countries the potential to regain their leading positions among the world's grain producers and exporters.
With regard to wheat, USDA analysts expect Russia to increase its production by 11.49 million tonnes, to at least 53 million tonnes, Ukraine – by 2.16 million tonnes to about 19 million tonnes, and Kazakhstan – by 5.3 million tonnes to about 15 million tonnes.
However, the optimistic forecasts for the Black Sea region could be offset by the negative reports from the United States and Europe, where drought could significantly affect the future grain harvest and consequently result in changes in market conditions and grain export flows in the 2011/12 season.
In this situation, a professional analysis of the grain market based on the factors determining current conditions and market trends in the medium term is increasingly important, as it allows assessments to be made of the main challenges and risks in production and consumption patterns.
Aiming to create a platform for professional communication between members of the CIS grain market, two leading consulting companies in Russia and Ukraine - the SovEkon analytical centre and the APK-Inform analytical agency – have organized the "Russia-Ukraine-Kazakhstan: At the start of a new grain season" analytical forum, which will be held on July 14, 2011 in Kiev's Opera Hotel.
During the forum, delegates will be able to exchange opinions and take part in professional dialogues, discussing grain balances and estimating price ranges in the 2011/12 season, as well as assessing winter crops acreage for the harvest of 2012.
Experts from private trading and consulting companies, along with representatives from FAO and government institutions of the Black Sea region will present their view of the current and future market condition in the world, specifically in Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan.
Producers of grains, and analysts and traders of the grain market are invited to take part in the analytical forum.
Participation in the "Russia-Ukraine-Kazakhstan: At the start of a new grain season" analytical forum represents a great opportunity to gain unparalleled insight into the Black Sea grain market.
