The third International Investment Summit of Donetsk Region

The third International Investment Summit DID, which will be devoted to issues of public and private partnership (PPP) in the context of the new economic policy of Ukraine, will take place in Donetsk on September 29-30, 2010. The summit is being organized by Donetsk Regional State Administration, Donetsk City Council, Ernst&Young, Altera Finance, and the Conference House company with the support of the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce. Despite the fact that the PPP for Ukraine is a relatively new mechanism of cooperation between the state and business, it has been successfully used for a long time internationally. Constructive cooperation between the government and private sector increases the chances of unfreezing large capital and infrastructure projects that cannot be financed in full by the state. This is particularly urgent in the run-up of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship. Public and private partnership will help attract financing in the spheres that have strategic value, such as housing, exploration of mineral resources and mining, construction and operation of highways, railways, bridges, tunnels and subways, sea and river ports and their infrastructure, engineering, etc. The main goal of the summit will be to promote discussion at the level of high-ranking officials of the subject of public and private partnership, and produce an expert evaluation of Ukraine's investment attractiveness and competitiveness. The participants will be able to become acquainted with the estimates of the leading Ukrainian and European experts of the latest financial instruments of Ukrainian companies. The summit will also host a conference entitled "New investment prospects of Ukraine", the partners of which will be the Ukrainian Stock Exchange and the RTS Stock Exchange. Among the speakers expected at the summit will be state officials, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, leading Ukrainian and international experts in the field of PPP and investment, and the heads of major industrial corporations in Ukraine and foreign countries.
