Ferrero Group expects Kyiv Economic Court's ruling regarding protection of rights to Raffaello brand in Ukraine
On Wednesday, September 1, the Economic Court of Kyiv will continue hearing a case on the protection of the rights of Soremartec S. A. (Ferrero Group) to the Raffaello brand. The sides have submitted all necessary materials, and the court has all grounds for taking a decision. The renewed consideration of the case started on April 15, 2010 under a ruling by the Supreme Court of Ukraine of January 26, 2010, when the Supreme Court of Ukraine cancelled previous rulings on the case, which declared invalid the registration of the Raffaello trade mark, which could have jeopardized the protection of Ferrero's intellectual property rights in Ukraine. Due to Supreme Court's positive ruling, Ferrero Group optimistically evaluates its prospects for realization of its present and future plans in Ukraine. During the long-running court actions the Embassy of Italy in Kyiv has been supporting Ferrero Group in protecting its company rights. Kyiv Economic Court's judgment for the defense of the intellectual property rights protection, will definitely encourage other foreign companies, e.g. Ferrero Group, to contribute to the rise of the Ukrainian economy.
