RETAIL OPEN DAY 'Trading in Ukraine: Finances and Restructuring' to be held on November 24, 2009
The open day will examine the prospects for the retail sector – a budget supporting industry with a turnover of UAH 450 billion that employs one million workers and that provides services for virtually the whole of the adult population of the country. The topics of the open day include: What were the results of trading activity in 2009? Who will be able to sell in 2010, and what will they sell? How can retailers be protected from bankruptcy? Where can development funds be found? What crisis-proof techniques can be used in the sector? Answers to these questions will be sought at the final forum of the year, organized by sector associations and a leading retail trade magazine. Open day events include: Three sources of crisis-proof retailing 1. "Trade is a locomotive of the economy" This will be the main slogan of a plenary meeting of the B2G (Business-to-Government) section of the forum. The meeting will discuss the significance of the retail sector as part of the economic potential of the country, the social function of the sector, the role of the state in developing and financing the retail sector in Ukraine, rational models of cooperation between business and government, and the key problems in the development of the retail trade in Ukraine during the second year of the global economic recession.
