Sevastopol again to meet investors
On September 6 – 7, 2012 Sevastopol will host the International Sevastopol Investment Forum (ISIF-2012) for a second time. Last year, the Forum gathered more than 400 participants and 40 investment projects were presented. The most ambitious of them was a national project entitled "Balaklava Green" for a year round resort (750 hectares, $1.2 billion.) "The International Sevastopol Investment Forum is a platform for dialogue between the public authorities and business, which is aimed at improving the investment climate, economic development and to increase the competitiveness of the region. Besides, the Forum is a unique opportunity for potential investors to familiarize themselves with all of the investment projects under one roof," says Elena Chekalina, the head of the investment and foreign economic activity department of the Sevastopol City State Administration. Within the framework of ISIF-2012, apart from the investment potential and general strategy for the development of the city, experts will also consider the prospects for the development of such areas as the energy sector, tourism, recreation and private-public partnerships. A distinctive feature of the Forum this year is the expansion of its geography. The focus of this event is global insight on the Black Sea Region of Ukraine. Investment opportunities will be presented not only for Sevastopol city but also projects of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Kherson, Odessa and Mykolaiv regions. Among the project areas are: • Ports and ship building; • Municipal and alternative energy sectors; • Recreation and tourism. Yacht marinas; • Industrial real estate; • Residential and commercial real estate. "We hope that more participants visit the Forum this year and the event will be rich with action that is interesting and really useful for everyone: both the regions and investors.
