III Ukrainian Grain Congress on grain market development through effective agrarian policy in Kyiv on October 16–17
The Ukrainian Grain Association and the information-analytical agency APK-Inform announce the holding of the III Ukrainian Grain Congress on October 16–17, 2012, in Kyiv (Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv).
The main theme of the III Ukrainian Grain Congress is the effective agrarian policy, as the main instrument for the dynamic and effective development of agricultural production and other sectors of the agrarian business.
Within frames of the main theme oft he Congress, the organizers plan to consider the most important and urgent issues of formation of the agrarian policy of Ukraine in the current period and the long term outlook.
The issues include relationships between agricultural business and the government structures; protection of the interests of existing investors and attracting of new ones; common and divergent interests of different segments of the agrarian market – agricultural producers, traders and processors; the position of Ukraine on the global agrarian market and the relationship with the countries-importers and international organizations.
The purpose of the reporting discussion is to develop the concept of strategy of development of the Ukrainian agrarian market and its grain segment, in particular, for the following10years, until 2022.
Basing on the stated goals and objectives, the leading international and Ukrainian experts on macroeconomics, agriculture, agrarian policy and grain market will present as speakers of the Congress.
Within frames of the Congress the organizers will held the roundtable discussion on "Mechanisms of the effective cooperation between the Government and private business on the grain market". The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Ukrainian Grain Association are administrators of the round table. The main purpose of the roundtable is to identify the most critical issues of interaction of the state bodies and agricultural business structures, and realize discussion of investment prospects for the grain segment in 2013-2015.
In order to participate in work of the Congress the organizers invited Ukrainian and international agro-industrial and trading companies, organizations providing financial, insurance, brokerage, freight-forwarding, consulting services, mass media and scientific institutions.
Historical background
210 delegates of 125companiesfrom 16countriesworldwide took part in work of the II Ukrainian Grain Congress (Kiev, October 17-18,2011).The main topics of the Congress were the following ones: development of the Ukrainian and world grain markets; land market and the financing mechanisms of agricultural production in Ukraine and the world. The roundtable discussion "Mechanisms of the effective interaction between the Government and private business on the grain market" became the part of the Congress.
