Scientists, doctors planning to appeal against Kyiv mayor's entourage in court over property rights

Kyiv, February 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ex-health minister and fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences Yuriy Spizhenko and Doctor of Sciences, Professor Ihnat Matasar are planning to file appeals against the entourage of Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky demanding that the sale of property owned by some Kyiv enterprises be declared illegal.

"We will definitely lodge appeals against them [the entourage of Chernovetsky] in court. We are currently doing preparatory work. A serious team of lawyers is being formed, and [our appeals will be considered] even in the European courts," Spizhenko said at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Thursday.

Spizhenko and Matasar said that the entourage of Chernovetsky is involved in raider schemes to sell the property of a number of Kyiv-based enterprises, in particular, CJSC Knyha (Book), OJSC Ukranalit, OJSC Kyivkhlib (Kyiv Bakery), OJSC Vidradny House Construction Enterprise, OJSC Ferroconcrete Structure Plant No.1, OJSC Kyivkhimvolokno, OJSC Kyivmiskbud-3 Group, OJSC Kyivmiskbud-6 Group, OJSC House Construction Enterprise No.4, and a number of others.

The participants in the press conference accused the owners of Kyiv-based International Financial Center, Viacheslav Suprunenko and Yaroslav Naumenko, Center Director Nadia Zhura, Kyiv Council deputy from the Bloc of Leonid Chernovetsky Anatoliy Chuba, and others, of illegally selling off property.
