Poll: Most Ukrainians don't approve of state officials' work

Kyiv, February 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The majority of Ukrainians do not approve of the activity of state officials in the country, according to a survey conducted by the Sofia Center for Social Studies on February 3-12, 2009 and presented at a press conference in Interfax-Ukraine agency on Tuesday.

A total of 2,018 respondents participated in the interview. The poll's margin of error does not exceed 2.2%.

According to the poll, the activity of the President Viktor Yuschenko is seen negatively by 89.7% of respondents, and positively by 7.2% (86% and 10.7% in December).

The Cabinet's activity is negatively assessed by 83.5% and positively by 12.8%.

The parliament's work is negatively appraised by some 88.2% Ukrainians, and only 7.8% view it positively.

The activity of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is seen negatively by 75.2% respondents and positively by 21.3% (75.2% and 23.3% respectively in December).

Some 66.2% think that BYT, OU-PSD and Bloc of Lytvyn, which are in a coalition, cannot effectively cooperate and vote, but 20.4% think the opposite.
