Ukrnatsproekt to start road show of Ukraine at 16 world's financial centers in October
Kyiv, September 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine's media campaign abroad, which is aimed at enhancing the investment image of Ukraine, will be launched in October this year and foresees the launch of road shows in 16 major financial centers, Chairman of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects Management (Ukrnatsproekt) Vladyslav Kaskiv has said.
"Ukraine will be presented in image publications in the world's best economic electronic and print media outlets, videos on the world's leading TV channels, as well as onboard the leading airlines," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
According to him, as part of the road shows, the Ukrainian mission over two months will be visiting the world's largest financial centers in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East and presenting national projects, including the LNG terminal, Olympic Hope 2022, Clean City, Open World, and Energy of Nature.
It is planned to spend about UAH 47 million on all of the events.
"Ukraine currently spends 0.013% of its budget, or $6 million, on its image positioning in the world, while, for instance, Bulgaria spends $23 million and Russia $2 billion," said Kaskiv.
According to him, an online interactive investment portal will open in the coming week, which will represent all investment projects developed jointly with the world's top consulting companies.
"We have the ambition by the middle of 2014 to make InvestUkraine.com the Web site number one in Ukraine. This Web site will be the only investment window, the system of the personal support of investors on the domestic market. It will also present the legal base in different languages," said Kaskiv.
In addition, he announced that it is planned, at the initiative of the president, to hold a high level annual investment forum with the participation of high-ranking officials from various countries, the leaders of governments and the world's leading companies in Ukraine.
"We hope that the forum will be held in mid-June each year," said Kaskiv.
According to him, a seminar will be held on January 15, 2012, where the development of the brand book and the general strategy of Ukraine’s image positioning will be started.
"All interested persons, professional experts and international companies will participate in the seminar, i.e. it will be a completely public process," he said.
During the press conference he noted that currently the priority project is the LNG terminal.
"The real state of the project has exceeded our most optimistic expectations. We recently returned from the United States, where during the visit of the president we met with the number of companies that are greatly interested in the project, and we held talks with them on investment," he said.
