US software developer DataArt opens office in Kyiv

Kyiv, April 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – U.S.-based software developing company DataArt has opened an office in Kyiv, DataArt General Manager Mikhail Zavileysky said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

"We are confident the office in Kyiv will become the company's face in Eastern Europe soon," he said.

"It is the best equipped for meeting with foreign clients and partners, and arranging corporate training sessions and workshops. DataArt plans to continue developing in Ukraine, and the Kyiv office will become the center of this development."

According to Zavileysky, the number of employees in the Kyiv office as of now is about 20, and in future it is planned that this will grow to 50-60 people. The company plans to establish active cooperation with Kyiv-based universities, particularly with the National Kyiv Polytechnic.

DataArt was founded in 1997 in New York, the United States, by former Soviet Union expatriates. Now it runs offices in Kharkiv, Kherson (both Ukraine), Voronezh and St. Petersburg (both Russia). The total number of employees exceeds 600 people. Its key produce is software for investment funds, financial, telecoms and media companies.

DataArt's customers are PNB Paribas, Standard & Poor's, Ernst & Young, Ogilvy, and Motorola.
