Three construction organizations create Confederation of Constructors of Ukraine

Kyiv, April 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian Construction Association (UCA), the Construction Chamber of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Union of Manufacturers of Construction Materials have united into the Confederation of Constructors of Ukraine (CCU).

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that the decision was made at an inaugural assembly of the confederation in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Honorary President of Kyivmiskbud Holding Volodymyr Poliachenko was elected president of the confederation, while Head of the Ukrainian Construction Association Lev Partskhaladze was appointed chairman of the confederation's board.

Earlier, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov said that the confederation would allow the Ukrainian government to settle issues in the construction sphere more fruitfully.

"Today you're creating the confederation. We consider this as a possibility for the government to work with organized constructors, so we can meet regularly and receive feedback and have a possibility to review our decisions," he said at a meeting of Ukrainian constructors in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The confederation has the status of a self-regulating organization.
