Rating services prices in Ukraine to halt falling, say experts

Kyiv, March 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The falls in the price of ratings services in Ukraine is likely to stop, as the prices have reached an adequate level, development director of the Rurik rating agency Leonid Dolynsky considers.

"When another three authorized agencies (Rurik, IBI-Rating and Expert-Rating) entered the market, prices started to be corrected and, in my opinion, they have fallen to an adequate level. I do not forecast a significant fall in prices," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

IBI-Rating Director Hryhoriy Pererva said at the press conference that the increase in the number of authorized agencies invigorated competition on the market of rating services: since the start of this year 50% of new credit ratings have been assigned by Credit-Rating and 50% by the newly authorized agencies.

The rating agencies' representatives also noted the importance of their being proper relations between the operators of the rating services market as public confrontation between them leads to a decrease in the market's trust in all of the agencies.

As reported, until recently four authorized national rating agencies operated on the market. However, the State Commission on Securities and the Stock Market on March 15 excluded Credit-Rating from the state register of authorized rating agencies.
