Vita Veritas to open largest aqua park in CIS, worth $50 m, in Dream Town trade center in June 2011

Kyiv, October 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv-based Vita Veritas Ltd., the investor in the construction of the Dream Town trade and entertainment center at 16, Obolonsky Avenue in Kyiv, is to invest over $50 million in building an aqua park in the center in early 2011, according to the co-owner of Dream Town, Gary Korogodsky.

"The B block is to be finished in early summer 2011 – in the second quarter. It will feature an aqua park that will be the largest indoor aqua park in Ukraine and the CIS. Investment in the aqua park will amount to over $50 million. The payback period is around 12 years," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

Korogodsky said that additional investment in the B block, taking into account a decision to place the aqua park in the block, would be some $20 million.

He said that the aqua park of over 30,000 square meters would be located on the third floor of the B block. The total water area in the aqua park would be around 4,000 square meters, while that, for example, at Brovary aqua park, is some 2,000 square meters.

He also said that at present aqua park blueprints and design are ready. The aqua park will have five pools, 15 slides and perhaps an artificial beach. It is likely that the aqua park would be open twenty-four hours a day.

A press release drawn up for the press conference says that the aqua park theme would be devoted to the Lost World, a novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and SPA centers, beauty salons would be located on the third floor.

Korogodsky said that the estimated value of the ticket on weekends would be UAH 180-190 per day without time limits. Vita Veritas would be the operator of the aqua park.

Commenting on the safety of the aqua park, he said that this was of top priority for the investors.

"We have all of the permits needed for the construction and the assessments of specialists," he said. He also said that the whole trade center is insured for over $200 million. He did not disclose the name of the insurer.

Dream Town technical director Yuriy Holova said that the construction of the B block is similar to a bridge construction, and the location of the aqua park foresees the reinforcement of pillars and ceilings.

He added that today construction work in the B block is 90% complete, and the outdoor decoration is being finished.

Dream Town Director General Hryhoriy Kolodach said that talks with furniture operators, children department stores, electronics store operators and other companies are being held on their location in B block.
