Poll: Nearly two thirds of Ukrainians against Ukrainian hero title for Bandera
Kyiv, April 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – More than half of Ukrainians have negative feelings about third Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko's decree to posthumously award the Hero of Ukraine title to Stepan Bandera, the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, according to the results of a survey presented by FOM-Ukraine General Director Oleksandr Bukhalov at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
According to the survey, 60.2% of Ukrainians negatively reacted to the presidential decree, while 19.5% had positive feelings about it. Some 12.4% of those surveyed were indifferent to this issue, and 7.9% failed to answer.
